Personal Mentoring with Richard L Haight

The process of Awakening is largely a process of tuning to the place of deepest harmony within, which is likely a process that many of us are familiar with at least intellectually, but there is still much more to the awakening process than that.

Through the tuning process, little by little, disharmonious perspectives and unhelpful motivations slough away like dead skin. We can consider these incorrect perspectives and motivations to be like a dark field covering over awareness of our true nature. With each release of darkness, a little more embodied is our awareness of being, allowing for greater experience of calm clarity in daily life. In this way, we spend less and less time trapped in the dream of self-absorption. In a very practical way, we are actually awakening through our daily lives, if we are ready to take that step.

The vast majority of us have been trained to acquire knowledge and skill to accomplish,  but awakening is not really an acquisition or accomplishment. A true awakening process is more about unlearning and releasing than learning and accomplishing, which makes it quite counter-intuitive initially.

Although there are certainly things to be pointed out by the coach or mentor (i.e. learned), most of this process will be removing that which has been blocking awareness of the most fundamental, transformative truth within you – that which you truly are.

Together we will embark on a journey of transformation by exploring your deepest yearnings, fears, and narratives, so that you can unveil your truest being and thereby live life to the fullest!

You might wonder if this mentoring is right for you, a consideration that I recommend you to take very seriously.

A person in a true awakening process acknowledges two important truths about the process:

First, they recognize that there is a hidden inner harmony that they are willing to touch in with as of as they can.

Second, they acknowledge that they also have some degree of undigested, bound-up energy or what I like to call “psychic debt” that causes disharmony (in the form of compulsive thought, emotion, urges, reactivity, self-absorption, fears, traumas, and much, much more), which they are willing touch in with and see honestly, so that it can be digested and resolved to harmony.

If you are ready for personal mentoring with Richard, your condition in the moment is the place from which each step of our journey begins.

Every step of the mentoring process will be taken from where you are in the moment, honoring the fact that awakening occurs through exploration in the moment.

Awakening can be likened to the process of natural maturation. You cannot force the body to mature, for maturation happens according to its own rhythm, but we can remove the barriers to maturation, which greatly smooths the process.

With the model of maturation in mind, we will carefully weed the garden of your mind and body at your pace, while supporting the healthy plants and sewing seeds of awareness that will mature in time if you care for them properly.

By honoring where you truly are, we will take each step at your pace, tuned to your needs. In this way, awakening will occur at the quickest rate possible for you.

We commit ourselves to your process.

Mentoring will be a minimum of two and a half months, where we both commit ourselves fully to your process. We will meet together weekly for hour-long Zoom conversations. There will be homework between session to inspire your explorations.

Committing your time to this homework is essential as it will help uproot limiting beliefs and self-sabotage. The homework may include a variety of meditations, awareness exercises, time spent in nature, journaling, et cetera, to help you awaken in the most expedient way possible.

To date, without exception, everyone who has gone through the mentoring program has seen tremendous results, but to make real progress, you must be ready. Our job it to be sure that you are, indeed, ready.

If, after reading this description, you find yourself passionate to begin the mentoring journey, and you are willing to go through the inner disharmony to reveal the light within, fill out the application below, so we can begin the screening process to determine if this mentoring is right for you at this time.

Blessings,

Richard

Testimonials

Hello everyone, I took the happy plunge of personal mentoring with Richard and I thought I’d share my experience with you in case you might find it useful. ~~~~~ About a month ago I finished several weeks of personal mentoring with Richard.

I looked forward to each session and took advantage of his focused attention to help me answer questions I had collected in the intervening week. Our conversations were wide ranging, intellectually provoking, emotionally stirring (like totally, stir it all up: genuine belly laughter, tears, and even anger) and always supportive even if it felt like the ground upon which I was standing was quickly eroding away. Throughout the interaction, the love was palpable and coupled with a genuine assertion: “can you use this, practically, in your life?” I understood my menteeship as a momentum accelerator.

It was just that.

While I saw and felt things differently during the weeks we worked together, that experience has continued and it seems to be amplified. I’m seeing even more things even more differently. I’m interacting with family, friends and work colleagues with a greater openness, acceptance, respect and appreciation. At times its startling, because I don’t have to remind myself to be that way with these people… I just more often am.

Of course there’s more to reveal and strip away; that sloughing appears to be happening more easily. I’m so very grateful for having Richard as an honest, integrous guide. I full-heartedly recommend this experience and wish you great courage in discovering yourself.

Richard is a very likable, gentle and humble character. At the same time he is a martial arts master, so … he will push you again towards dedicated work.

The mentoring program is very valuable to me. I had experiences with coaches and psychotherapists in the past. Those teachers were applying methods that were also helpful but not on a deep level. My sense was that those teachings were based more on trained knowledge than wisdom about (real) life. That is the big difference to me: To work with someone who understands and ‘feels’ life and its fascinating, counterintuitive and sometimes magical features. The conversations hence are about perceiving and interpreting reality. About observing the mind and dissecting de-energizing thought loop patterns.

One problem for any student on the path of awakening seems to be the busyness in daily life that leaves few pockets to practice awareness. If stress is added to the mix, the student might even refrain from daily meditation exercises and enables the mind to slowly “creep back in”. Especially in this context I regard the exchange with Richard as very valuable. His method to integrate awareness and meditation into daily life as much as possible feels right (though ambitious) The best example is the training of the warrior-meditation exercise. The beauty of life or the experience of oneness with the outer environment can hence be felt better at any time during the day rather than merely in private meditation sessions at home.

Richard is a very likable, gentle and humble character. He will have understanding for your personal mood-swings or if you haven’t done your homework. At the same time he is a martial arts master, so once the reasons for any mood-swing have been clarified, he will push you again towards dedicated work.

Richard is the most humble teacher I have ever met and yet the most profound.

I have worked with many spiritual teachers in my life who always subtly put themselves up on a pedestal. Always the letdown came after the necessary fall happened and I would see them as mere humans.

Richard is the most humble teacher I have ever met and yet the most profound. Perhaps the two are tied. Because he’s not attached to knowing the most or being above others in some way, the world is open for exploration and there is room for fault. If I question something he is teaching me, he is always willing to go down a path of exploration with me and is always open to finding a more functional truth.

That is what Richard teaches, functional truth. Since we ultimately cannot prove what is real, all we know is what we perceive in the here and now. So that is where Richard starts. How can we live fully, honestly, joyfully and in greatest service to ourselves and the ones we love?

Richard teaches how to exist completely unattached to the outcome of circumstances while still being fully engaged with what is in front of us. He teaches how to release ourselves from the thoughts and emotions that are not ours and to be present to the greater reality around us.

I have found great ease and peace of mind with Richard’s work. I feel tapped into something deeper and more vital than my emotions and thoughts. I feel more stable, solid and joyful for what life has to bring me. I view incidents that I once perceived as negative as welcomed challenges to add to my resilience. I feel more engaged with life.

Hands-down one of the most compassionate, calm, and even person I’ve ever ‘met.’

I’ve been working with Richard for some time now. He is hands-down one of the most compassionate, calm, and even person I’ve ever “met”. He has been mentoring me virtually, and he has provided me with lifelong spiritual tools that I can readily integrate in my daily life. I trust him very deeply. Many spiritual leaders often inadvertently ask you to give up your job or leave all of your possessions, etc. Richard doesn’t do any of those things. He merely asks you to practice using tools that are tremendously simple and tremendously powerful. He makes spirituality fun and accessible. To me spirituality is no longer a chore but in reality spirituality IS my everyday life. Meeting him was a true blessing from the divine and I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat. It doesn’t matter where you are in life – whether you’re simply seeking guidance or whether you’re in the elementary stages of self-realization or whether you’re a seasoned vet trying to make it to the “finish line” (there isn’t one but you know what I mean!) – Richard is the person for you!

— Hugh Smith

I felt unconditionally accepted and deeply cared for.

I have been a student of Richard L. Haight for over a year now. Before I was introduced to Richard’s teachings from his books I had been studying the works, and going to the spiritual retreats of some of the more highly regarded spiritual teachers around. The problem wasn’t the teachings I was involved with, it was that I lacked direct guidance. I was stuck, and unable to help myself. I needed a teacher to show me where I was missing the mark! I was discouraged and had all but given up on the possibility of living an Awakened life. I was trying to awaken myself. My ego was attempting Self Realization.

I really connected with Richard’s Warrior’s Meditation practice. It felt so good to be waking up and expanding the senses. I was in my body, present and enjoying mediation. That was a beginning. The issue was that I kept unconsciously cycling through my conditioned thoughts and emotions because I wasn’t in touch with a broader aware perspective. I contemplated signing up for mentoring but I was afraid that I would be judged or criticized by Richard for my lack of awareness, and for past and current issues in my life. Inspite of these fears, I decided to take the plunge and sign up.

During the sessions, Richard helped me see things differently. I felt unconditionally accepted and deeply cared for. He was so easy to talk to. Richard was able to shine light on my life, so I could see clearly and make changes.

Richard’s approach is professional and knowledgeable. He has a gift of being able to listen from a deep and unified place, and then to respond in kind.

I have done my share of psychotherapy, and this is not the same. With the support of mentoring with Richard, I have begun to discover the Truth of what I really am and am learning how to live an awakened life. Mentoring is helping me to stabilize and integrate the Oneness experience.

When I first saw that Richard offered mentoring, I knew in my gut that this is what I needed. I’m so glad I listened.

Every aspect of my life has been positively affected by the work I have done with Richard.

Richard Haight is an unusually clear channel of consciousness. His lack of mental interference allows guidance to come through in a way that naturally supports the awakening process of anyone around him.

Training with Richard has decreased my resistance to the ups and downs of life, freeing up more energy for work and play. I have experienced a deeper connection to my environment, not only to the plants and animals, but inanimate objects as well. Every aspect of my life has been positively affected by the work I have done with Richard.

Since working with Richard, I have been able to:
1. Treat more patients without experiencing burn out.
2. Connect with my wife and daughter on a deeper level.
3. Feel into what needs to be done in my life to bring balance.
4. Follow through much more with what needs to be done.
5. Maintain emotional stability.
6. Move towards discomfort (when appropriate) in order to bring harmony into my life.
7. Experience the universe working through me, as opposed to using will.
8. Feel connected to and supported by All that Is.

I highly recommend training with Richard to anyone who is on the spiritual awakening path.  If you would like to talk to me about my experience with Richard, please feel free to email me to set up a phone call. I would be happy to share my experience in greater detail.

An authentic facilitator and trusted guide to the process of embodied awakening.

I wholeheartedly endorse Richard as an authentic facilitator and trusted guide to the process of embodied awakening that has emerged from his own path and fearless exploration. The inner resonance to his written and spoken word was immediate as was the awareness of being moved to work with him directly.

The journey to embodied awakening is a process of reduction not acquisition, acceptance not resistance, a natural integration and resolution of any and all conflictual patterns of beliefs, concepts, emotions and/or energetic dissonance. This will uniquely unfold and deepen for the individual with Richard’s astute guidance and intuitive support.

The deepening of the path and the validation of its congruency and authenticity is incrementally opened to the individual through  “revelation”. It is an active embrace and immersion in life as life itself rather than a detached and aloof withdrawal.

Richard is easy to talk to and supportive. His explanations make sense and instructions are easy to follow.

A year ago I started mentoring with Richard Haight. I am a registered nurse and was having some anxiety at work that was affecting my communication process with staff and patients. It also affected my personal life and health.

Richard helped me learn to relax through his Observation Meditation which is an active and unconditioned meditation. It is something I do as needed throughout my day. He also helped me to start my journey of spiritual awakening which has allowed me to have a greater appreciation for all that is life. I say start my journey because this is an ever evolving process.

Working with Richard has allowed me to also make important life style changes. I have changed my diet and lost 23 pounds in 4 months, except for a few pounds, I am keeping it off. It felt easy to do. I’ve never had a diet feel easy before. My total cholesterol dropped 50 points (it was over 200) and for the first time ever my HDL (the protective cholesterol) is above 60. I also no longer have any desire to smoke, which I would do under extreme stress or sometimes when I would have a drink.

Richard is easy to talk to and supportive. His explanations make sense and instructions are easy to follow. I have noticed quite a difference in my level of anxiety at work and with that a great improvement in my communication and interpersonal skills. My improvement was noticed by my manager who awarded me most improved among all staff. It’s nice to be recognized for all my hard work but the best things are feeling healthier, happier and having a lot less anxiety.
